No more ticket fraud? Trier start-up creates security with new ticket format

With the "Velvet Pass", the Trier-based start-up company Niftee is launching a ticket format on the market. It promises security and personal benefits for customers in the event sector.

As Niftee spokesperson Laila Gulaif explains, the Velvet Pass is a digital ticket format.

It is a technical infrastructure that is made available. We are therefore not a ticket provider and do not see ourselves as a competitor to other providers, but rather as a supplement.

The Velvet Pass is primarily intended to protect fans from fraud and at the same time open up a new world of communication with artists, event organizers and sports clubs.

The Velvet Pass should bring confidence to the ticket market

The ticket is absolutely forgery-proof, i.e. nobody can copy or imitate it. It is currently still possible to copy the same ticket or resell it as a screenshot an infinite number of times. The founder of the start-up, Carmelo Lo Porto, says: "The Velvet Pass creates 100% trust in a market that is currently still characterized by a Wild West mentality. Nobody can be sure whether they will actually gain access with their sometimes overpriced ticket. With our format, this is guaranteed, the ticket only exists once."
